Getting Mugged: More GRWM Videos To Inspire Your Look!

In my last Drag 101 post, I gave you a full face tutorial showing all of the steps I take in doing my makeup. But I've got lots of GRWM content that I wanted to curate for you here as well!

I used to do a lot more makeup "play days" on Facebook Live, but as that platform is turning its back on the livestream functionality, some of that content has started to make its way to YouTube. I'm still figuring out how to best incorporate it, but always check out the Live tab on my YouTube channel for recent looks that I've done on the fly!
But I've also been doing filmed makeup content on my channel. I've been playing around with a new setup, and trying new options for cameras and mics, so some of these have some technical issues that I'm not satisfied with, but I hope you'll enjoy the looks that have come out of it!
Like, and such as:
The lighting here is...less than optimal! And it didn't help that I wore a stark white wig that threw off the whole color balance. But we don't scrap videos in this household, and I love this soft, cool-toned look that I put together using the Blend Bunny Cosmetics Longing palette and the Masterclass blush palette!
This GRWM was a lot of fun, because I was creating a whole new character: Darla Kavanaugh! We were doing a fundraiser for the Empire Arts Center, an interactive theater show (think Tony & Tina's Wedding) that was set at the Hoboken High reunion for the class of 79! It was fun to come up with this 80s-inspired look using Bella Beaute Bar that blended my drag style with an 80s sensibility.
I was firmly in adulthood before the Teletubbies made it on the scene, so I don't have any nostalgia for it, but when Trixie Cosmetics decided to do a collab collection with the weird children's characters, I knew I wanted to create a look using the products, as well as a couple of products from another Teletubbies collection for Glisten Cosmetics!
It's been a hard couple of years for a lot of indie brands, and we've had to say goodbye to some good ones! I remember when Coloured Raine was THAT girl! The Queen of Hearts palette absolutely had the indie makeup girlies in a chokehold. When they were clearancing out the last of their inventory, I decided to do a final look with the products to say goodbye!
Soft, feminine lingerie look? We love to see it! I'm known for my bold, colorful looks, but when Bella Beaute Bar released their Morally Grey palette, I knew I was up for the challenge! It's soft, and definitely a different look for me, but I really enjoyed how this came out!
Blend Bunny is one of my absolute favorite indie brands, so I'm always excited to get to play with one of their releases! This collab collection with Ellis Atlantis was so gorgeous and I love the summery look that I came up with. There is a part 2 collection out, so don't be surprised if that gets a video of its own!
And finally, this video is one of my all-time favorites: the Blacklight Makeup Challenge! I had to do a whole face sitting in the dark with no illumination except for a blacklight! The results looked pretty good in the dark - but what about when we turned the lights back on?! I liked this so much, I'm planning to film a sequel, so definitely be on the lookout for that!
I hope these videos inspire you and give you ideas - makeup should be fun! And there's no better way to build your skills than to play and experiment with new techniques and ways of applying.
XOXO -
Miss Jaye
