Vamp Kiss: Fenty Goes Dark

If you love a vampy dark lip, Fenty has been releasing some real bangers!

I've been pretty hot and cold with the Fenty line overall, but let me tell you: I am obsessed with their lip products! Most of them have this delicious cherry candy scent that is very divisive - you either love it or you hate it! I personally love it, so when I was at my local Ulta and saw they had a bunch of darker, vampy shades I decided to give them a try!

I am so in love with the Gloss Bomb Stix, and I can't say why! I usually don't love a glossy lipstick formula - I tried so hard to love those Propa Beauty glossy lipsticks that were super hot a few years back, but I just couldn't get into them. But there is something about the Gloss Bomb Stix that I just love. The pigmentation is great, and they are slick and smooth on the lips. The Gloss Bomb glosses are great; they are pretty good as a lip gloss, and they keep coming out with gorgeous colors like this!

Here are swatches and a little about each of the three colors:

Caviar Crystalz:

This one is the most misleading - usually the plastic packaging of the Gloss Bomb Stix is made to mimic the color of the lipstick, so I expected a true black with iridescent glitter. The glitter is there, but the base shade is a lovely cool-toned taupe-brown, with maybe a hint of purple undertone. I love a black lip, but I'm glad they went this direction because the color is absolutely gorgeous. This is for someone who wants a vampy look but maybe doesn't want it to be quite as dark as Midnight Ballerina. The glitter also keeps this color very whimsical!

Moonstone Mischief:

This one has less base pigment than the two lipsticks (obvi), but it's a gorgeous shimmer gloss that has just a touch of purplish brown color with green-heavy iridescent glitter! This one would be a great topper if you want to bring some shine and glitter to a dark lipstick base, or you can wear it alone for a slightly tinted glittery look. How it looks will depend on the color of your lips; when I tried this on my naturally medium pink lips, it turned out much deeper than the swatch on my pasty white skin! You'll definitely get that vampy feel with this yummy gloss!

Midnight Ballerina:

This one is the deepest, vampiest look of the three lip products. It's a deep, deep brown with maybe a hint of purple undertone, and it's got a great semi-sheer finish where you get a good, solid coverage but you can still see your natural lips underneath. This has the glossy shine that you know and love from the other shades of the Gloss Bomb Stix, but proves that they can work in deeper, darker shades!

I've been very into more neutral lips, usually going with my usual combo of a medium to deep lip liner, a light lipstick in a peachy beige or pink, and then a touch of gloss if I'm feeling the oopy goopy lip look. These lip products are close to neutrals while adding some depth as well as some deep plummy notes, so I think these might help turn my neutral lip obsession in a new direction!

I've been thinking about trying the new Fenty Foundation; I didn't love the original version of that formula, and it seems like people are saying this one is much better, so I'm hopeful. I also need to go through my collection and see what Fenty treasures are just waiting for me to rediscover them!
