“When you’re alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go downtown…”
I’ve always loved “Downtown” by Petula Clark, and so I put together this fun little gallery of images that we shot around my office in downtown Grand Forks. Downtowns used to always be the heart and center of the city, and there is still a lot of movement and changes (as you see with the construction right outside my office door!) but they are also fading and being abandoned as people to continue to move out to suburbs or the edge of town. I want something that had a touch of loneliness to it as well, and I hope that comes through in this group. This was a spur of the moment addition to the shoot, and I absolutely love it!
Side note: I included one of the black and white shots from the set in with this gallery because I love the way she edited it and it really fit with the feel of what I wanted for this collection, but I’m actually planning a whole gallery of black and white shots from the whole shoot! That is going to be the last gallery published in the series, and it will be up on June 30th at 11am CST!
